If you can find one you want at another dealer, why not try to strike a deal with them, even if is means having to drive a few hundred miles to get it? That way you eliminate the dealer trade and them getting to abuse (drive) it before you even get it.
And like others have said...a car is a huge expenditure so if you are spending that kind of money you should get things done to your exact specifications, under your terms. Tell them anything short of that and youll go somwhere else. Its surprising some dealers still dont want to work with people, even though they need a sale a lot more than you probably need a new car.
Don't want to burst your bubble, but if you do in fact get one ordered, I wouldn't count on getting it in 90 days either, especially with the lower projected sales numbers and production cutbacks. I was going to go the same route after the dealer couldn't locate one with my specs in the entire midwest and then I got the standard 2-3 month wait speech for an order and I decided to hold off for now. If you order you are at the complete mercy of Nissan and I dont want to be in that situation.

Is there any way to search Nissan's new car inventory or statewide to see which dealer has the 370Z setup you want?
In theory, if you are buying a new car from a dealer, does it really matter which dealer you buy it from. Aside from the shipping costs (if you live in a diff state), there really is no risk. Is there?
I mean, a new 370Z from any dealer will all be the same.
Why wait for a new car order. Just find the dealer that has your car and give them a call.
