for smooth surfaces you dont need to use primer/adhesion promotor, but on textured surface it is needed. depending on the radius of the corners i would either just wrap it eactly to shape with no over lap, or heat it and stretch it over onto the backside of the trim where you can use other tapes/adhesives to make it a permanent wrap as needed.
