When you're all said and done, $2400 you can have a 6.0 Powerstroke running the same time as a Z. Personally I think thats pretty impressive for a 7,000Lbs. truck
You can also drop an LS1 in a Geo Metro for about that much money and have it run 12's. Does that mean it makes any sense?

A fast diesel truck is an oxymoron. They should be used for towing because that is what they are designed to do, and that's all they can do well. Adding more torque/power to be able to tow more is awesome. Doing the same to run faster in the quarter mile is moronic. Have you ever seen a diesel truck lose control at the strip? It's not pretty. And it happens a lot more often than you'd care to think. Why? Because they're not designed to go fast. End of story.
