Stock rods look pretty beefy. Very similar to the stock Evo X rods (which are relatively strong, but ultimately pretty weak compared to aftermarket offerings). Something tells me the stock VHR could make some impressive specific output with just replacement pistons or even just looser ring gaps.
This build will be impressive - the Z platform is a good one on which to build an output monster. Well, except for the really short wheelbase... but that just necessitates more driver skill or better traction control algorithms.
