The evo is a whole different car than its lancer counterpart. Engines are so different that you cant say its the same, they have different drive systems, strengthened chassis, longer and wider wheelbase and body, and entirely different suspension system thats controlled electronically. Its development is completely separate than the lancer, and its also been from a long line of other evos.
Being said, i think the Z looks better and is more comfortable.(hence why i bought it inestead) I dont think the two cars should be compared however due to its huge differences. I do plan to buy an evo one day to use as a track car
