I used to underestimate the power of V-TEC as well, until one of my friend gave me a ride in his S2000! From 6000 to 9000 RPM (VTEC range) = SICK!

. But the problem I see is that vtec constantly want you rev your engine higher where VQ has the torque throughout the whole RPM. That was one of the reason I never drove S2000. Going from si, you'll love the whole-RPM-power of the 370Z. You can almost never be in a wrong gear.
