Personally, I would not opt to have placement of a GPS that requires one to leave a cubby open. Sure if you rarely use the GPS but who wants to be driving around with the cubby open fulltime. Finally, the suction cup mount Garmin using the disc that you glued inside your cubby is notorious for the suction cup letting loose from the disc intermittently for various reasons. A real pain often.

Look here 370Z vehicle for your Garmin GPS

Consider returning your 1300T and going with a 1690.
Given how much more expensive the 1690T is, I'm quite happy with the 1300T. Pllus the fact that the traffic isn't handled all that well on the Garmin devices, it may not get too much use so hiding the wires won't be a major issue.

And if the suction cup fails (and the one I'm using isn't Garmin's) I can just glue it. But I doubt I'll have to.

So, I think I'm just fine with the way it is, thanks.
