I don't think a lot of people realize you can't "order" a Nissan like you would a domestic car. There's no such thing as placing a specific order for a car to be built in your name.
I sold Datsuns/Nissans in the early 80's. The dealer never really knows what or how many of any model he's going to get, After writing the deal the salesman can wait until one comes in (rare), or he can try to arrange a dealer swap w/another dealer. He can try to talk the customer into another color or more/less options to fit one he can get.
If one should actually come in, the sales manager tells all his salesmen with Z deals pending to come into his office with their deals. The car goes to the salesman with the highest-profit deal. The rest wait. This goes for ALL models, not just Z's.
