The question that I've been asking myself more and more often lately is this.
What if Nissan instead of doing the 370z design literally started reproducing the original Datsun 240z's but up to today's standards. Literally the looks would be IDENTICAL to the 240z except call it the 400zx with a 4.0L v8 engine with a sequential turbo setup (as opposed to the parallel set up with the 300zx I believe).
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my 370z and it's amazing but there was this nagging thought in the back of my head as to why this thing isn't any faster? More and more cars are "going turbo" or even forced induction in general and I think with a "stronger powerplant" the 370z wouldn't need a Porsche as it's goal
.
Let's face it ladies and gentleman. We've entered another "horsepower age" where Camry's come with 260+ horsepower and the Mustang GT which has been underpowered for a million years is now outperforming all of it's competition (Ok maybe that's slightly exaggerated...).
Plus... it's also the "retro" age where everything is retro styled.
