It's centered, I just take crooked pictures.

I didn't use a mounting kit, just pulled out the old unit and put in the new. There is a Metra kit that you can buy, but I'm not sure if it reduces the gaps or not. Maybe someone who has used one can speak to that.

Edit: I found someone who has the kit installed. I can't decide if it's worth the money to fill in the gap.
