the only way the cooler will drain back into the oil pan is if was upside down and higher than the engine, and the drain spot back into the engine was higher than the level of the oil, don't worry the oil cooler wont drain.

I have an oil cooler twice the size of that one on my 350Z and no issues with oil distribution.
