**EDIT** This started as a post to determine what kind of seats / harnesses / rollbar / cage i could get in the car** Lot of what i had posted is irrelevant so ill leave up the links to some of the options and then throw in what im going to do just as a fyi for anyone else out there doing the same**
My purpose is to take my 370z and do both entry level track and SCCA events as well as the occasional show for the hell of it.
For seats I will be going with a set of SPARCO Corsa's or similar for my size. I still need to find some that i can sit in and try out. Issue is i need a seat that will fit me and is still FIA cert. Im 6ft 2in, 190 lbs, and have a 34in waist.
In addition to seats i need harnesses (duh!) BUT its almost retarded to put in a 4+point point harness if i dont attach it correctly SO...
A. I can put in the
Powerhouse Amuse R1 Titan Brace Bar (Sorry/Thanks to Swat Performance since its your thread i found this on a jacked the pic!)
At the moment this runs for $1000 or so and only mounts a harness on one side or the other.
B. The second option is to get a pre-made bolt in / U-weld autopower or Relentless Autosports 4-6 point roll cage or similar. These run from 900 up but thats without install.
C. The third option is to get a custom cage / roll bar / harness bar installed and rock out from there. these can be anywhere from 800-5,000 depending on what you want.
Big thing to remember is your harness bar or wherever you attach your harnesses to has to be within certain degree from where the harness exits the back of the seat in order to be installed both safely, and pass pre race inspections. Check with your harness manufacturer for the correct degree.
I have decided to put faith in Scott @ Relentless Autosports who is currently building a 4 point bolt in roll bar / cage with harness bar right now. This will both give me a little added protection over the Amuse strut bar and allow me to mount harnesses on both seats. Once Scott has finished the prototype bar and gotten it installed in the test car he will be able to start making more on request.
Old stuff:
I had looked at Status seats, as well as Bride. Although Status look FANTASTIC for their price (and they are on sale atm) they are not FIA cert. And the Bride ZETA IIIs dont quite fit me so the size up would be perfect...but is not FIA Cert.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
