It's my daily driver and honestly.. I am more than impressed by it's daily driveability and I even have the 6 mt.
The rear hatch can actually fit a lot of stuff if you can prioritize your belongings. For example I can fit my entire hard shell guitar case, a briefcase sized suitcase, a pillow, a sleeping bag, and still had room for another relatively large item. Also if you don't have a passenger you can fit even more things in the passenger seat.
To be honest I was comparing an 09 370z (got mine new, had been sitting on the lot for a few months, the dealership had been unable to move it which is sad
) and a slightly used 04-07 STi or evo9. The only reason for the choices is because the back seat and four doors plus a trunk can be very useful and they can be made to go fast cheap (relatively).
My 370z is a base and the bucket seats are pretty comfortable and I managed 20-21 mpg combination of city and highway driving. If you don't have a need for a four door car (I didn't but they're useful) then the Z is a great daily driver sports car.
