Americans are fanatics about their cars. On roads and tracks across America, speed is king. Since we were young, we’ve been taught that it’s all about horsepower. But according to brothers Matt and Brad Baker and Japanese tuning masters like Kazuhiko “Smoky” Nagata, there’s so much more to it. Anybody can make a car more powerful. But the key is, will it be drivable? When the road from A to B curves, will it remain connected to it? These are some of the thoughts that went into the Bakers’ // Project: Mothra //.
I couldn't agree more. In fact there is quite a funny show called Top Gear that demonstrated this very point. The took a GTI and put a Lamborgini V8 engine into it. Incredible power increase.... the problem was it just wouldn't corner under power. No matter how they tried, they couldn't make the thing not spin out under power on the race track.
So really, what's the point of having all that power if it just won't drive/corner?
