I'm soooooooooooooooooooo glad that these stories are actually getting voiced to the public and someone is doing something about it. When I found out about these incidents, I was furious. This is true, we military members get screwed sometimes due to unqualified practitioners doing things they shouldn't. On the other side of the coin though, how good do you expect 'free' health care to be lol. And although what happens sucks, they will be Medically Discharged, which means they will be given a check every month for the rest of their lives, on top of the other gratuity earned through the members passing. (Not trying to sound like a weasel, but just giving all sides of the story.) If a military member passes (provided they have set it up correctly) a half million will be given out to whom they choose. Granted, money doesn't bring the person back, but still. Just giving all sides. And even though we as military members can not sue military doctors, Family members CAN on behalf of the military member. So parents most certainly can stand up for their children... If the court will hear the case.

I hope this does go to the Supreme Court. It needs to be seen by all. GL to the spouse of the fallen Airman.

And just for some background info about the Airman that lost his legs, when he came out of anesthesia, and they explained to him what all happened, he was still on a respirator, so he couldn't talk. But they gave him a piece of paper to write on if he had to say anything... All he put... "AF?" Even with the knowledge of loosing both his legs, he still wanted to stay in and serve his country. THAT is why we have the greatest military in the world.
