If any of you HAVNT clicked on the link in the OP I suggest doing so and watch the flash animation on the official Nissan Fairlady Z website.

This isnt some guy from the forum's, drawing, this is Nissan JAPAN's rendition of the spirit of the car, we as a 370 community can NOT get more JDM than having this new decal incorporated into our community for subsribing members to put on their cars.

Again to make things clear, AK is trying to add an ADDITIONAL decal option to the mix. So there will still be the original silhouette, just the website, and then this NEW design to choose from for new members who decide to help donate to the forums. Dont kill this idea for future members having more options to choose from just because YOU wouldnt want it on your car. If AK decides to start having this available, the original decals will still be there.
The alternative decal antennahead posted isn't too intricate at all to make into a decal - the font is way more detail than the brush stroke.

Our cars are 0% JDM since JDM is Japanese Domestic Market which is not us so I'm not sure what the obsesion with JDM is.

The original design doesn't really have anything to do with JDM anyhow. It just happens to be an artistic style that Nissan used in the JDM for advertisement but it doesn't in any way scream Japanese or JDM.
