You might want to study up on this. You generally do not use any additional adhesive other than what is on the vinyl already when you remove the backing. Apply wet (liberally), squeegee flat.

My only recommendations would be to substitute the working fluid with 1 qt water and 3 to 4 drops of detergent mixed in. Use rubber squeegees instead of plastic paint scrapers shown to avoid scratching the vinyl.
