Yes, but you have to be gentle with the washing so you don't break out the clots, or dry socket will develop. That's why if it were me, I'd do liquids for the first 2 days, soup and vitamin shakes to avoid any food particles in the hole where the tooth was, then there's nothing to rinse out of the hole.
