VDC does not affect breaking or fast lane changes. ABS breaks, good handling is what saved me.
Had I tried to accelerate rapidly without VDC, then I may have gone into a spin.
VDC saves me on a daily basis as I drive a little spirited, and so I never turn it off. But it is good to know what does what in our cars and not to associate everything to the VDC.
