I admit I'm not a rabid boxing fan, but I do like it and I watch a decent amount. I can't recall ever watching this happen at a fight, let alone a fight with a HUGE name like De La Hoya:
"giving De La Hoya a beating and closing his left eye before De La Hoya declined to come out of his corner after the eighth round."
Now I have to see a re-broadcast of that fight! Or I'll find it on the net
