Yeah...You are owed this and most insurance companies understand why but may not be real easy to deal with. Call the Ins co. and tell them you want to file for diminished value. They will send an appraiser out to look at the car
after the repairs and determine 1) repair related shortcomings, and 2) Inherent diminished value from the car now having a record of damage.
I got a couple of grand back after my hit....
