It also comes down to feel, I feel in touch with the Z, the soft ride and loose steering of the Mustang lessens the "sports car" experience. The always available torque is nice, but I like a high revving engine that responds to a quick downshift and awwaaaayy we go.

You are comparing their old apple to your new orange. The 2009 pulled something like .87 on the skidpad, not anywhere near what the 2010 and 2011 models do. They did a massive improvement in the suspention for the 2010 model and tweeked it a bit further in the 2011.
