The 250's are great beginner bikes. While I know a lot of people who upgrade in less than a season, I highly recommend sticking with it for a couple and it will pay off in dividends down the line. I do a lot of group rides and the guys who either ride 250's or had spent a few years with them easily outpace a lot of the 600's and other SS bikes because
they know how to corner. It's a lot easier throwing around a 250 than it is an SS, let me tell you.
