Default COBB Tuning Surgeline Announces New Drag Race Series!



COBB Tuning Surgeline is proud to announce a brand new drag racing series set to touch off this May at Woodburn Drag Strip in Woodburn, Oregon! The COBB Tuning Surgeline Import Race Against Cancer is a heads up drag racing series with cash prizes and trophies culminating in a championship race with even more cash and prizes. The COBB Tuning Surgeline Import Race Against Cancer has a class for everyone, from stock cars up to super-modified “run what ya brung” all-out race cars. The COBB Tuning Surgeline Import Race Against Cancer is a 5-race series with a finale championship event featuring big cash prizes for each class with proceeds going to benefit the American Cancer Society.

The first event kicks off this weekend, May 8th, at Woodburn Drag strip. It’s just $30 for racers and $10 for spectators. A $100 cash prize will be awarded to each class winner along with a $50 COBB Tuning Surgeline gift certificate for the Best Trap Speed and Best ET in each class.

The COBB Tuning Surgeline Import Race Against Cancer is a heads-up, winner take all drag race for import cars only. A complete listing of classes, rules and schedule will be available online soon. You can call 503-670-9500 for more details or email Surgeline@cobbtuning.com.

Street Stock – Stock turbo, street tires, NO additional power adders. This class is for the “Stage 2” Daily Driver/weekend warrior. Exhaust and intake modifications are “free” but must retain the stock turbocharger, engine and a full interior. These cars must be running a “street tire” no drag radials or race tires. NHRA-legal cages, chutes, seats and harnesses are allowed.

Street Modified – This is an “anything goes” class but restricted to street tires. No drag radials or race tires. All modifications in this class are free, but must adhere to NHRA rules. All vehicles must retain a full interior. NHRA-legal cages, chutes, seats and harnesses are allowed.

Super Modified – Same as the Street Modified but drag radials/slicks are allowed. All engine, turbocharger and power-adder modifications are free. The interior may be gutted as well. All cars MUST adhere to NHRA safety regulations and rules.

*All Tech inspection will be performed at the track and is at the discretion of Woodburn Drag Strip and NHRA. Cars will be classed at time of registration by Woodburn Drag Strip AND COBB Tuning Surgeline Employees.
**All Championship Competitors must compete in the Finale event to win overall championship and be eligible for championship cash prizes.
*** Points will be awarded for 1st, 2nd 3rd place finishers. Championship Points for best ET and best Trap Speed will be awarded to competitors in each class.
