Think it was once that the Yankees were both the most popular team and the most hated. Not worried about how popular the red sox are or that Yankees fans turned out in force to make the Red Sox the most hated. I've been a fan my whole life through good (2004 and 2007) and bad (Billy bunkner fire twice by the Red Sox). And when is the Yankee owenership going to go nuts? Tomorrow is May and the Yankees aren't in first.
