Basically they state that the stock brake pads are not strong enough for track use, and recommend upgrading pads and brake fluid for track use. They claim that Nissan has designed the stock pads for low noise and brake dust. Also according to the article, Nissan now offers upgraded brake pads for the sport package. They also recommend adding cooling ducts (?) to the wheel area, as they claim in an attempt to improve aerodynamics, Nissan did not allow sufficient cooling of the brakes.
There are numerous pictures of the different pads demonstrating the wear pattern.
I would scan the article but I am at work.
So you have to buy the "Sports package" to get upgraded brakes! They should come standard on all the Z models!
