Most oils have ester additives as part of their additive package.

Nissan is just using the term Ester Oil very liberally, like how Castrol Syntec can say it's a synthetic, even though it's really just "well cracked" dino.

There was a lawsuit years ago that allowed Castrol to call it's stuff synth...and they won. Hooray for a dumb judge.
