Memphis, Jackson, Bolivar, Martin, Nashville, Knoxville, Clarksville, etc. I really want to blame it on new teens that hop into mommy and daddy's car.
On my way back to Huntingdon, TN from Middleton, TN at about 10pm, I had a great experience. On US-70 W coming off I-40, I got behind someone doing 5mph under the speed limit, which isnt bad, I wasn't complaining, they were give or take 3 car lengths in front of me, then suddenly they start randomly slamming on the brakes. I slow down to more of 5 car lengths to be safe, then they literally SLAM the brakes on me. So I figured my safest course of action would be to simply pass them, speed up to my normal 5-10mph over the posted and be done with it.
I thought wrong, I pass them, and what do they turn, they turn on their high beams the ENTIRE time while behind me and speeding up to be right behind me. I tried brake checking, because they were certainly riding my ***. But to no avail, I didn't feel safe speeding up anymore, so I decided to drop my speed from 65mph to 40mph. Then when I was 10miles from my turn, since they were the only car behind me, I decided to drop to 20mph (posted 55mph) the entire way to my turn, then, just to be a jerk when my turn came up, I slowed to 5mph and took the turn as slow as possible. Keep in mind they STILL had their high beams on, and only turned them off when another car was oncoming.
I think there needs to be a way to get these morons off the road. I'm not going to say I was in the right for acting like a **** myself, but what drove me to it from simple stupidity of someone who could have caused an accident, especially tailgating with those damned high beams.
