I am also running with the sticker paper license right now. I've never had front license plate installed in my previous car for 6 years and never had an issue. I did have trouble with my Lexus and that was 2 yrs ago (at the time it was brand new), but that was because I was in SF. A motorcycle cop literally pulled me over in the middle of traffic at night just to give me a fix-it ticket. He saw me drive pass him without a front license plate, and he saw the one in the back. So yea....he gave me a ticket. But hey, that didn't change the fact I didn't like drilling 2 holes in the front bumper. I just double side sticky taped the license plate and had a cop signed it off at the station and removed it again. I'm definitely gonna leave the front off again. I think carrying it is nice but it doesn't really stop the cop from giving a ticket if he really wants to have a power trip. Just because I've had no problem for the longest time, cops are now looking for more reason to give out tickets / to make money / just to be a d*ck because you drive a sports car. All I can say is be careful, it all depends if you're in the right place in the right time.

Just personal experience though, if u goto SF I highly recommend to put your front license plate, tape it on whatever as a temporary solution...cuz it's not worth the trouble. But so far in the east/south bay, i haven't had much trouble. Same goes for tinted windows...it's all luck - we all know we're not suppose to tint it over a limit, but we still do it because it's nicer.
