Don't forget the other side of the argument; a black box can be your friend if the accident is not your fault. It's only a problem if the accident is your fault and you don't want to admit it.
As for warranties, it's a business decision. Nissan can't cover the added risk of mods at a reasonable cost. You guys would make the same decision (or go bankrupt). If you are hiding your mods to save your warranty, you are scamming the manufacturer by shifting your risk to them. Nissan doesn't sponsor your race teams just because you bought a production car. Sorry guys, that's the painful truth.
