Claybar strips all the contaminants off the clearcoat. It leaves you with unprotected clear. I just clayed my GTO, but when it came to the tar from the poorly repaired roads here in NY and central Jersey, I actually had to use a cleaner wax because it was more abrasive, and then clay the area again.


Another note on cleaner waxes.....they are abrasive. What you use to clean your paint should not be what you use to protect it. It beads nicely for a week or two, but then washes off. You want better protection, put a better wax over it.
