The NXT 2.0 that I have is the polymer wax - only used it once on another car but man it is awesome.

That's not my understanding - the claybar basically removes contaminants that won't wash off - if you skipped this step, I would think you are just waxing over them and depending on the wax you are using it that could be detrimental. I'm no expert though - anyone else done a claybar treatment on their fairly new 370Z?
