I think a lot of people here missed the part where the OP said he didn't need a FANCY set. People are recommending Snap-On, SK ect. All expensive professional stuff where a full set can cost in the thousands.

Stick with craftsmans, even a hundred bucks can get you a nice starter set that should last you a very long time and you can pretty much take your whole car apart with.
