I have been VERY happy with my Kenwood DNX6140. The user interface in DNX6960 is a lot better than 6140 IMO. I have the exact same Mic position and works pretty well

VERY Nice upgrade. The interface (looking at OP's) is much better than 6140. I hope they don't charge your credit card later if they do find out
