I have 08 350Z mt, and I'm experiencing the same problem.

I heard a louder sound after I shifted 1st gear to N and released the clutch. While in N, if I released the clutch, then I'd hear a quieter chattering sound.

I'll try to release the clutch slower to see if the chattering will go away. Thanks for the info.
