Cooler weather will require a shield of sorts to block the oil cooler during daily driving. ~40 degree weather (driving on the road) and my oil temp would not go over 160, even with the thermostatic sandwich plate offered by GTM. ~60-65 degrees at the track (Pacific Raceways) and I was a hair away from 260.
Style of driving has a lot to do with the need for the cooler. A daily driver in the NW most likely will not need an oil cooler. If you track the car then an oil cooler is pretty necessary, how big or how many rows I'm not sure.
