Nope, go with long tube, short ram is worthless in this car. Engine bay gets hot enough, you do not want to pull more hot air into it, get those filters away from the engine. Other option if you want to keep stock boxes is to look at Modshack and his DIY he did. Basically replace filter, silicone tube to replace piping, and ducts to bring in more cold air.

Also, the heat shielding on the Z, in many places, is just them covering themselves. Think of it as liability insurance, if something does go wrong they are covered, but aftermarket systems run cooler and more efficient.
