This was most likely during an "alley cat race" that bike messengers hold for fun and 'pride'
They race around the city to checkpoints and collect those cards you see in the wheel spokes.

I'm all for biking in cities (I'm a cyclist) but this type of riding is pretty reckless and inconsiderate. It's no wonder cabbies and pedestrians hate cyclists when you have d!cks like these guys cutting people off and weaving through crossing traffic.


That said... that was pretty impressive and these guys must have balls of steel. I would never cut in front of front loaders and buses in traffic.
