Was driving yesterday and heard a rattling sound. It was very metallic and pingy sounding. For a while I thought it was something to do with the passenger seat, but I then realized it was the sound of a heat-shield or similar thin metal item on the undercarriage. When i got home, I pulled out the flashlight and looked under the car and saw the passenger cat heat-shield dangling about a couple of inches from the ground.
looking back, I had a transmission replaced under warranty and am thinking a mechanic didn't tighten some bolts correctly after reinstalling the tranny and the subsequent road vibrations backed a nut off. Regardless it's at the shop -- should have it back tomorrow and no more rental versa
