Any regrets on 40th edition?
Looking into purchasing my first Z and I am torn between the 40th anniversary and the pearl white.
I would be dead-set on the 40th but navigation was not available (IMO the navigation adds a nice touch of luxury to the interior which I love; also backup camera on the 2011 models) The pearl white I would be looking to get with the persimmon interior. Anybody get tired of the quartz color? -_- Such a tough decision... |

Either one you get will be a great ride.
I do miss the navigation on my 40th, but the color to me was what put the vehicle over the edge for me. After two years of owning the 40th, I am still awe struck whenever I see the color combination of the Quartz body, wheels and then the contrast of the red interior and brake calipers . I am very particular about color combinations and how they make me "feel'. The 40th has never disappointed... Good Luck with your decision!

LOVE my 40th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mounted an ipad in the cubby (you can see pics in my journal link below) I've had people tell me they'd wish they didn't get nav so they could do what I did.

To be honest you will want that cubby space. and the navi that comes stock in nissan vehicles even more so when it is not one of the newest models. It is very frustrating and not operable by the passenger while driving. Save the cash on all that crap and enjoy those red seats!!!!!!! i had the same options as you and except for the fact that white looks better with carbon fiber there i no reason i would trade my 40th no that i have it!!

Thanks for your opinions!
I do love the color combination of the 40th. Now I have to to find one to see in person first. Also do the 40th have USB connection for iPod streaming? Last edited by equalme; 11-13-2013 at 03:01 PM. |

the 40th is a sexy car. every time i see one, i ogle over the color scheme. you can always go with aftermarket navigation like Pioneer, Kenwood, etc. Not sure why that's ruffling your feathers

If the 40th is in great shape, go for it. You'll also be much better to go with tablet instead of the nav package, and you can PM me to find out how to do it right!

I understand you being torn, the color combo and wheels etc on the 40th are awesome, but the nav set up was a must for me.

The 40th is great, the color, caliper, seats, stitching and the wheels sold me. Plus like everyone mentioned the fact that only 1000 were made, it makes it feel rare and limited, gives you an exclusivity feel on it. But, for me during the ownership of a little bit over 3 years, the color kind of bored me and that's when the mod bug bit me. What did I do on mine? LOL I virtually violated everything that made it the 40th edition. Swapped out the body kit, changed wheels numerous times, sold the red seats , changed the steering wheel and more to mention ending up ricey lol. Now I'm undecided if I wanna sell it for a solid red sport touring or nismo or go with a nismo body kit this time on the 40th.
