40th Anniversary - Very Nice!

Finally took delivery. 3K miles, exceptional condition, awesome car. Over the last 20 years, I've bounced back and forth between Z's and Corvettes....mostly Corvettes. I sold my C6 last year in anticipation of the C7, but the second model year of that car (I wouldn't buy the first year) is still three years away so I thought I'd fill the gap with the 370Z.

I've only driven a couple hundred miles or so, but this car has won me over. It may not have the power of the Vette, but it's a lot more fun to drive and the rev-matching is amazing. The C7 will really have to step up to pry this baby out of my hands.

Mmmm...I can cook my eggs on your clean paint.

I love mine. Absolutely love it. Congrats

It also looks like it came with the 600-700 dollar DRLS from Nissan! Post some pics, I don't think there are many if any forum members that have taken the plunge on those (due to price mainly).

TreeSemdyZee 02-25-2012 09:32 AM

Congrats!

Love the 40th.

It does have the running lights. Not something I would have ordered but they look kinda cool....in a goofy sorta way. I'll post some pics. I
wish they hadn't mounted a front plate bracket. You don't need one here in Nevada. Build number is 777. Perfect for las Vegas. I'm not big on personalized plates but that's too good a number to ignore. Maybe: 777OF1K

I've lived with the car for almost two weeks now, and I'm thoroughly impressed. It's a far better car than my 2003 350Z and it has level of quality that my C6 did not. The 350Z was underpowered (so much so that I added an APS TT), but this car is very strong. More power is always better, but with the rev-matching stick, I can't recall any car being this much fun to drive. No twin turbo system needed here.

We drove it back to back with my buddy's '06 911 C4, and even he (a typical Porsche elitist) was stunned by just how good the car is. He commented that the Z was 90% of what the Porsche is for 1/3 the price. The first time he experienced the rev-matching downshift, he had a grin from ear to ear.

I was planning on switching to a C7 in a few years after all the bugs are worked out (2nd or 3rd model year), but I will have to strongly consider the next gen Z or GT-R along with the Vette. For now, this car seems like the best bang for the buck out there.

How about TRIPL 7Z for the plate (triple sevenz).

I have one as well and I love it too. Enjoy!

FLYZ 04-20-2012 09:56 AM

I have always been obsessed with flying and am getting my private pilots license right now. I went with FLYZ (hence the user name). She looks like a beauty!

I think so too.....but you know how Porsches guys are. Elitists. Here's a composite of both cars and my previous car, a C6, in the same location. I think the Porsche is number three. Vette still looks great.

onzedge 04-25-2012 10:00 PM

The Z has the better lines.

It's certainly the most modern...the Porsche looked very dated with the short wheelbase.

KingZee 04-26-2012 12:55 AM

congrats

bigdog1250 04-27-2012 05:05 PM

The Z's profile is hard to beat. It's really a beauitful car. Even though other cars in the price ranger may have better performance (ie 5.0 mustang) the Z is so much prettier. While I like the look of the base C6, it's just too plain. Now the Z06... that is pure sex.

I can't wait to see what the C7 will offer!

Congrats on your new Z - you will love it! Make sure to get an exhaust to really experience the glory. Highly recommend the Fast Intentions system - most on here would agree.

VegasZ 05-07-2012 12:33 AM

I would love to do an exhaust and a CAI but I have a 7 year Nissan warranty.....any idea if those mods will void it?

those mods wouldnt void warranty unless they can prove that it's the cause of the problem which is pretty unlikely that those would cause a problem...

maybe the CAI with hydrolock, but that is unlikely unless you submerge your car in a pool of water

somebody correct me if I am wrong.

man its pretty hard to trace any problems to a catback lol....

They sell the S tune nismo version themselves, what is the difference?

I think with a catback you will be fine. If you threw on a damn Turbo now you are looking at a denied warranty.
