Didn't get my car cover...worth the fight?

Hey guys,

I bought my 40th used this past February, been loving it so far.

I had done lots of research on 370z's before I bought however wasn't aware of the 40th until I saw it on autotrader (hebdo in Quebec) and was blown away by the color and interior.

So I bought it, didn't haggle price and actually had to fend off 3 other people who came the same night i was signing in hopes my financing failed lol

Anyways...only months later through this lovely forum did I find out I it also should have come with a car cover.

Almost bought one on Ebay, but wife said try to get it from the dealer first...so I'm trying...seems like its going to be a battle though..

Think its worth it? I get they might say its used so maybe nothing they can do, but I didn't haggle price, its unique and the car should come with everything it was rolled out with...its not like a bought a 5 yr old Lancer with 100K like my old car lol.

Absolutely worth it.

Nothing to lose and a 40th car cover to gain. Your only cost is a trip to the dealership.

I would walk in and don't dance around it, mention that you have been made aware the 40th comes standard with a car cover and you did not receive one.

My two cents

Def go ask. Worst they can do is tell you no

While they are right, I would bet they will tell you your out of luck... don't feel bad I bought a 40th with no cover too... luckily someone local sold a brand new (non-40th) OEM cover to me for $60 the same day. Only dif is the 40th logo. One day I hope to pick one up though.

Don't buy the $200+ off ebay... search craigslist and things of that nature... most of the D-bags that yank them from the cars sell them there I am sure.

Since you bought the car used and (I'm assuming not from a dealer), have you tried asking the person you bought it from? Maybe it's sitting in his garage or basement and he just forgot to give it to you. If it is from a dealer, they likely won't give you one since they were selling used and probably didn't get it from the previous owner. Maybe they would sell you one, but I doubt they are even available separately from the car.

Otherwise, it's worth trying to get one somewhere else. Keep in mind they are indoor car covers, but if you are storing your car inside for the winter, it will keep the dust off and it looks cool. How much you are willing to pay for one is up to you, but I would probably pay $200 - 300 if I couldn't find one any cheaper. Then again, maybe I have more money than brains.

doesn't hurt to ask. they probably just forgot to give it to you. let us know what happens =D

Definitely ask... if they say no, kick a random person in the balls as hard as you can. Then say thank you and walk out calmly.

lol. Thats plan B

I did buy it used, but its from the Dealer that originally sold it. Previous owner bought it cash for 50K, but had two other cars so must have over extended himself...so brought it back to the dealer. yay for me

I got my buddy calling the General Manager tomorrow...I got it from a super french area...and my french is only good for ordering food and picking up women lol.

hahaha - they're not going to give a square head a car cover.

The sad thing is that would probably work.

Better chance of getting it now than later (for free). If you go to buy it later it will run you upwards of $300.

Yeah, but $300 CAD is like $50 USD, right? :icon17:
