How's your 40th paint?

Admittedly at first I didn't do a good job washing my car safely and I have a fair amount of very light swirls which can be seen in the right light... just recently I bought a PC and some pads from Adams... also just ordered a foam gun and a polish kit (3 kinds from severe to finishing) from Adams as well. I hope this will fully correct my paint so in the future when I wash (with two buckets) I will do a better job.

My question is just a general one... how is everyone's Quartz holding up? Anyone showing any light-moderate swirling like me?

I feel like our paint/clear is extra soft.

I wash mine with the two bucket technique as show in the Adam's and Junkman videos. I have some light swirls (mostly from dealer prep before delivery) and a couple of small rock chips from driving. I haven't done the paint correction yet. Over the past 2 summers, I've waxed the car once a year, and the paint looks great with no significant additional blemishing.

I think I am over waxing... maybe not once a year but I should cut down to once every 4-6 months... I think I have done it 3 times in the last 6 months.

I haven't waxed my 40th since I got it, other than the wax the automatic car wash puts on. The paint looks perfect apart from some rock chips. I keep thinking I'll wax it, then it rains and the water still beads up nicely so I don't bother.

My paint is pretty good. I wash it weekly by hand and she gets Meguiars Ultimate once per month.

Ya, I know. Then again I don't have any swirls in my paint.

Same here I am about every 4-6 weeks. It probably gets 4-5 waxes for the 6 months a year I have it out. So far I haven't noticed any swirlin, I only wash it by hand using two buckets fallowed by hand polish and waxing. As far as the soft paint I do have some rock chips that are pissoffs but most people can't see them you would have to really look for them. But hey I bought to :driving: it and when need be I can get it wet sanded and resprayed.

As you'd expect, it has swirls in the right (wrong) light and some stone chips. I'm sure it's from the car dealer, based on what I saw there. I consider this paint to be defective, so I make no effort to preserve it. Soon enough I can justify having it painted with something of better quality, and then I'll start giving a damn about protecting the finish.

Got clear bra up front, couple chips from before I put it on, but nothing the average person would notice

Paint is good, very little swirl marks, I pretty much use the 2 bucket method to wash (essentially I hose off mit after every section) and used to wash 1-2 times a week and use Turtle Wax Ice Detailer inbetween to keep it clean

Recently i've used the Detailer more and washed less often because of all the rain lately
