Akrapovic Exhaust Decision - Need Your Input
Made my decision, I'm going with an Akrapovic full catback system for my 40th z. Now the only variable left is to make a decision between the two exhaust tips, titanium or carbon fiber. So I figured I'd let the 40th community, that's you, help make up my mind. Check out the two choices below and give me your opinion, please. Thanks guys.
Mike A) Titanium B) Carbon Fiber |

hmmm. I like them equally. If you want something more stealth-like, then go with the carbon fiber as they're darker in color. The titanium is ultimately what I would go with though.

I like titanium..... But if u have or are planning to do anything with more carbon fiber then I would obviously go with the carbon fiber. So for me it would depend on what else I am seeing myself do to my car....

I kinda like the CF on the tips. My Leo pipe on my CBR is the same...CF on tip, titanium piping. The Titanium tips look great as well though. Tough call. What made you decide to go with the Akra?

I think I've read it somewhere at the forum of concerns of CF peeling. Anyway, I vote titanium, looks slick.

Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback. Based on everyone's input, I decided to go with titanium tips. Plus, my wife has made a very direct pitch for titanium tips over carbon. She thinks that carbon tips will make the car to monochrome. I really think she is right, and although I love the carbon tips, they would probably look better on a white z.
So now it's time to order the cbe, get it installed, take many pictures, post them on this site, make everyone jealous and drive the s out of my z...lol. Thanks again for taking your time to provide input, that is why I think our site and this forum are so great. Mike |
