Door Interior Wear

Has anybody else had problems with the red suede wearing near the door handle? I have only had my car for about 8 months now and just under 8k miles

Default Door Interior Wear

Has anybody else had problems with the red suede wearing near the door handle? I have only had my car for about 8 months now and just under 8k miles and my suede near my door handle is already turning white and in some spots wearing off?

Slight wear as I bought mine with a few clicks on it already....but all still red

I'm actually worried about that happening, I try to keep my arm off the panel as much as possible lol...but thats a terrible way to live

It started when I accidentally spilled water on it. Part of mine now looks custom fade.

I dont care right now, if it fades, he gets replaced with red leather.

^sounds good I'll probably consider getting some. I have some wear in the same door handle area as well but mines darker not white or faded. I think I'm going to try the cleaning tips off the Alcantera website first and see what that gives me. Hopefully back to the all shiney red like the rest of the interior. Then I'll probably get some of the protectant after that though......

Fabric Guard will provide water repellency but once the pigments start to fail from being wet, your only option is to use a fabric dye in the form of a spray paint like product. I'm not sure which brands or colors will provide a close color match though.

I'm hoping mine is more just dirt/stain so I can treat it. I gave all of the material still there it's not deteriorated just darker....

I was reading a bunch of sites on Alcantra material

Noticed mine had some heavy black areas, didn't realize it was that dirty... figured it was ruined but followed their suggestions and just water and a white cloth really combed the area of all the dirt, its back to a brilliant red

I also experienced this! There was a little but of darker area around the driver door handle area. Followed the wet cloth and and soft bristled brush (cheap tooth brush) and it's back to like new! Really happy with the results so I then applied the fabric guard from 3m hoping it works well!

Let me know if the Scotch Guard works. I bought some six plus months ago wanting to do it but scared. Car has been under the cover all winter and I am getting the itch to get it out, bit want to protect the interior first.
