New 40th 370z

I am the proud new owner of a 40th anniversary Z.

What mods do I do first? I am thinking a long tube intake. Maybe stillen?

Any reccomendations?

Also is it difficult to install?

Dave

Congrats on the new Z. And if you wanna go Intakes Stillen is the one to get. Install may seem a litlle hard since you need to remove the front bumper but its real easy. Search the forum for some DIY's on the Stillen install. And lets see some pics of the 40th.

Ahhh! Remove the front bumper?? Wow that seems difficult.

Thats what I thought. Its just a bunch of bolts and clips, real easy and a small price to pay to install the best intake on the market.

I agree that the thought of bumper removal was a little intimidating, but i have done it twice and it is a piece of cake. Stillen is the way to go for an intake. Ppersonally I would do exhaust first.

What exhaust do you recommend? Stillen catback?

I have the HKS Hi Power TI and love it. Just put in the Stillen Gen3 intake this weekend too and it really adds to the exhaust note as well. I definitely recommend this combo. It's one of the more expensive combos but you can check into Fast Intentions exhausts too. They sound excellent too. Personally, I don't like rolled tips.

I run the Berk CBE and am quite happy with it. The sound does not attract unwanted attention until hard acceleration and it has a stock appearance which was also a plus. It definitely improves throttle responsiveness and power.

Other systems I researched, and I spent a month analyzing available exhausts, were not very discrete. Many of the available systems scream out "pull me over" due to their appearance or sound. In my opinion, most look "ricer", even though they undoubtedly deliver good performance.

I was very, very close to getting the Stillen catback before i settled on the Berk. No doubt, it is an excellent unit but I could not get over how the tail pipes stick out past the rear bumper.

These are just my opinions.

Stillen claims no drone is that true? What about Berk and the drone factor?

Bumper removal shouldn't be too difficult, but I didn't get the g3 intakes because I didn't want to cut my car.

I am looking around for a good exhaust as well, but finding the right one is quite hard for the 370z. The ones that give big power supposedly have a lot of drone, and the ones that don't drone give little power. Stillen is probably an exception, but i think they have fitment issues and I dont think the tips look all that great. Berk and HKS($$$$) looks much better, but Im not sure about the gains.

The cutting of a small plastic piece took about 15sec on each side with a dremel, no exaggerations. When you go to sell the car and put the stock intake back in, nobody will know because that piece gets covered up. It's well worth it.
