I was digging around again last night and found another car that appeared to be gunmetal. It had the wine top and everything. A closer shot of the headlight showed it was actually Black Cherry. Is it possible the sky and lighting is making the car above appear gun metal-ish? I've heard some Black Cherry owners mention the various shades it produces under different conditions so maybe thats the case. The gun metallic GTR does appear to be lighter in photos.

^I think this is true for many colours, I have seen this even in my 40th depending on the lighting it will give off any one of at least 5 different shades that I have noticed

silver, black, gun metal, purpleish and brown that's right depending on the time of day and light I thought my car was brownish

Yeah, after looking back at those photo's, I don't think that is gun metal. Really only the first picture looks like gun metal, but then the lower portion of it doesn't. Those other photo's don't look grey enough.

It will look better than platinum graphite no doubt, but in my opinion NOT as good as the 40th anniversary. Gun metallic is definitely a lighter shade of grey, i prefer darker. The grey scale shown in the second reply is totally inaccurate. Gun metallic is barely darker than platinum graphite.

That scale was taken from the Nissan site. I looked at the same image on the Nissan site when I started looking for Zs in GM, which is why I was thrown off by the images posted above. I was expecting something much much darker than the Gun Metallic GTRs.

I'm a little surprised they even came out with the Gun Metallic for the Z considering the slight difference from PG.

Yea I agree, they should have made the 40th color the replacement for PG. It is by far the best looking shade they have. Gun Metallic is too light for my taste. Chevy has a nice dark shade of grey on the vettes I really like.

And bring back burnt orange PLEASE
