I had some guys asking about this, so here are the pics. Turned out nice. Lights are painted, no film/tint. Clear bra is also on, no more worrying about bugs/rocks. Overall, very happy, let me know what ya think!

What paint did you use?

spitfire9200 08-05-2010 11:26 AM

id be too scared to paint them, simply because you can't reverse it, but they look nice

I didnt paint it. The guy that did my tint does it. I am not sure what he used, but it turned out good. I was definitely worried, due to the fact it couldn't be reversed, but its perfect. I did not want them to be too dark.

SmoothZ 08-05-2010 06:16 PM

Nicely done! I had my tails tinted as well and rims powdercoated black. Have really been pleased with the look it gives to the Z.

LMBmikeZ 11-05-2010 07:20 PM

+1 I am always a fan of blacked out!

You can always go back to stock tails. To tint the lights you use VHT NiteShades and you can always take it off pretty easily with "Goof Off", sold at any Lowes or Home Depot. I tinted my tails on my Titan and it was way too dark so I retinted them a few months later.http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

It looks like this person has 2 coats of NiteShades and a few coats of clear. I did 3 coats of NightShades and it was way too dark for people to see during the daylight.

Heres 3 coats of VHT Nightshades and 3 coats of clear on my 2004 Titan that I traded in for a black 2009 Z.

^^nice truck!

But I bet that was quite the change going from a titan to a Z

3.7Z 11-06-2010 05:51 PM

thinking about doing this.... is it hard to disassemble the tail lights?
or i could do tints but looks different imo?

why did somebody say you can't reverse it? what is that mean?

thanks in advance.

negronm 11-06-2010 08:17 PM

^^ depends on how you get them done....

some products you can take off, however if you get them done good from a professional shop they actually bake it in on top of paint and clear coats.......

these are not reverseable....

the first pair I had done where done with a similar product as ones mentioned above, they can be reversed.....

because its too dark? don't see the difference... ?

Footloose301 11-13-2010 08:48 AM

I would suggest the VHT Niteshades. They come out pretty darn good if you take your time and if it's too dark, or you simply don't like it then you can go back to stock. If you get them "baked" then you'd need to buy another set if you don't like them..... or perhaps the po po pull you over:eekdance:
