Is your 40th a daily driver?

Just curious to see...

Xan 05-14-2010 02:08 PM

4 sure!

BoostAddict 05-14-2010 02:26 PM

Negative. With the amount of abuse my dd takes, I couldn't imagine inflicting the same on the Z.

40th-Z-RI 05-14-2010 06:46 PM

yes it is, but I will be taking it off the road for the winters.

Rui Z 05-14-2010 07:30 PM

Sort of a daily driver. I drive the Z 53% of the time.

You just didn't get a chance to drive it, or you bought it just to admire? :)

Rui Z 05-14-2010 08:40 PM

53.7%......I stand corrected.

djpathfinder 05-14-2010 09:50 PM

Yup, if not driving with the kids and if I don't have to park it somewhere questionable. But I too will not be driving it in the winter.

Soygen 05-15-2010 10:37 AM

Sure is. My drive to work is relatively light traffic, no highway.

Ditto. My old Celica Has been kicked to the curb, (literaly) so the Z can be kept in the garage. I joyride every chance I get just tryin' to get through the break-in. 800 miles since March 3, so I'm about there.

theGreatGW 05-15-2010 11:50 PM

yes it is but like everybody else it does not come out in winter

DarkPath 05-16-2010 03:21 AM

Yes I think it will be..... I haven't had it 24 hrs yet, but I think I will drive it somewhere tomorrow too...

I've seen the photo, sans the wheel upgrade... At least it appears it may be the stock marketing photo for the 40th... Wheels look sweet! AND easy to keep clean..

Do you have a 40th... How long after you brought it home did it take to get the smile off your face?

DP

I don't have a 40th yet. I'm in the process right now of trying to get into one, but it's not simple because I have a middle man because I am overseas and I have a trade. I'll definitely know before the end of the month.

spdn370z 05-21-2010 08:39 PM

Daily Driver... YES! Thank god work is only 3 miles one way. I can handle 6 miles a day!

krzykanuk 05-21-2010 09:20 PM

Yes. But Pathfinder in the winter.

I brought mine home on the 15th it had 26 miles on it at delivery... Today is the 21st... that makes it 6 days ago? I woke up Thursday morning in Fontana Village, and now have 900 miles on her... 22 of those on the Tail of the Dragon and while I am driving it as one breaking it in should... I find myself wondering...

Is mine the first 40th to slay the Dragon? Chime in if your 40th has been to the Dragon....

Cars were made to be driven...

Z-chief 05-21-2010 10:15 PM

Oh yes, it will be. These cars were ment to be driven. I won't abuse the car of course, but I don't think I could stand by and just look at it every day and not drive it. I'll be enjoying my purchase from behind the wheel. :driving:

the bad thing about your commute is: it's too short. you could only enjoy the ride on your z for like 5 minutes or maybe even less if you drive fast :)

LaBron 05-22-2010 01:59 AM

Yes indeed!!!

I drive my baby everyday unless we are in the wife's car, which is a Infiniti FX35! Still fun! Still Nissan! I bought to drive it! I can't enjoy it if it's parked in my garage!!!!

Joka4411 05-24-2010 10:30 AM

yes i drive my 40th everyday, i even wakeup out of my sleep latenight just to run to the store and buy stupid stuff, just to get the chance to drive it again.

But now thats its winter, i drive my honda civic.

40th-Z-RI 05-25-2010 10:47 AM

I hear ya Joka!!

bqd15124 05-25-2010 11:57 AM

I got mine on May 6. I drove 57 miles from Dealer to home. 20 days later, It has 210 miles. I plan to drive my babe on the weekends ONLY. 4K a year perhaps..

nogoodfella 05-25-2010 01:40 PM

Got the car on the 20th and I still have 18 miles on her. 2009 Xterra SE is my daily commuter. The highways here are littered with pebbles from all of the highway construction. I have to install clear bra first before breaking her in properly.

We have to stop smiling? I was unaware this was a requirement...do I have to keep it parked then?

LMBmikeZ 06-01-2010 10:48 PM

yes, but only 6 months of the year, and never if ANY salt on the roads is a risk! I won't pull her out till mid to late april next year! and sometime in november this year she can go away so no Z Nov-April approx.

d02808045 06-04-2010 02:53 PM

I drive my Z Monday-Friday (and atleast 1 a month Sat and Sun too). I put about 100 miles on the car a day:mad::mad: ...that's all I can do since this is my only car. Thinking of purchasing an old truck or something so i can use but it does look that good with financial right now!!

LaBron 06-05-2010 06:43 PM

Superthug 06-22-2010 07:59 AM

Daily driver here...about 35 miles a day so it's not too bad

ktbaker 06-26-2010 02:43 PM

Daily driver. Short drive to work and so much fun to drive.

Scotober 07-09-2010 11:25 AM

Just got mine on Tuesday 7-6-10

LMBmikeZ 07-09-2010 12:46 PM

^^congrats!! enjoy her!

ktbaker 07-17-2010 06:53 PM

Only 9 miles 1 way to work and 20 miles one way to church on Sunday. At least 80% of that is on the highway. Too much fun not to drive everyday! We also have a 4 wheel drive Pathfinder if needed for winter driving.
