Default 40th Anniversary Carpet Wet

Have been having issues with my 370z leaking fluid. It keeps building up under the passenger side towards the rear.

So after awhile of trying to diagnose where the leak is coming from, the only possible thing I can think of is the heater core?

It took about 2 weeks or so for the fluid to build back up. The odd thing is that i haven't used the heater at all. Could the heater core be leaking even when the heater isn't being utilized?

After browsing some of the forums, it seems i can just connect the two hoses at the fire wall and bypass the heater core. Im not too concerned about not having heat as this isnt my daily driver, but I am concerned about the defrost. Will air still blow through the vents the defrost the windshield? I would assume it will, just wont be hot air?

I attached some additional photos. You can kind of see where the fluid is leaking by the lines in the carpet. I pulled the carpet and you can see fluid lines down the transmission tunnel to where the fluid is collecting.

Any info or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

B

Hi one way to find the leak is the big job .

seats and trims out . loosen hood lining along the edges ..

hop in the car , get someone to run water all over it until you find where it getting in ,,

if it was heater ,, carpets under dash would be wet . .

not behind the seat

I noticed front carpets were wet in my 350z last week ,, ,
black plumber RTV in all four corners of the window screen to fill and cover the missing bits of rubber ,, fixed,,

There is an a/c evaporator drain tube that can come apart inside the vehicle causing the a/c condensation to leak down the passenger side of the interior. I've also seen the drain tube plug up causing the condensation to leak inside.

Not sure if the 370z and 350z are the exact same but here are some pics of the 350z drain tube.
